The Goldilocks of Venues

Bah! For some reason my drafts are not being saved! Grrr.

Lately I've been feeling a bit like the Goldilocks of venues.
Too BIG!
Too small!
Too expensive!

I'm waiting to hear back from a place that I think might be my "just right" so I can go and take a gander. Verbally it sounds like the place of my dreams! It's actually in a building that I know and love, it's recently renovated, reasonably priced, allows us to bring in our own booze, is centrally located and the views! One side looks down into one of my favorite Toronto places and the other, well the other looks out onto the city. I'm basically in love with it before even seeing it. Which I know is bad, because if I hate it I will be so sad. It always sucks when you find out your crush is a big fat jerk! You know?

Nothing can move forward until I have a venue!

And since I'm talking about venues...Ever since I started reading wedding blogs I've started to have the sneaking suspicion that I am the only person in the world that doesn't know someone who owns a farm, ranch, mansion, retreat, magical forest where I can have my wedding.
Seriously!

I hope this is the one! *Crosses fingers*
I can't really do anything either until we pick a venue. And, I haven't made any friends with private country estates already adorned with twinkle lights and paper lanterns. I better get on that.

is it the Todmorden Mills that you are talking about?
if it is, I took photos of the space and can send them to you if you'd like.

haha - I totally know what you mean. Why don't I know anyone who owns the perfect venue or has a timeshare I can use for my honeymoon or etc, etc, etc. Hope this one works out!

Ooh. I'm very excited to hear what this venue is! Great blog. I'm a fellow Torontonian!

I am so with you on this. We are in exactly the same place with the venue. However, I have started to feel better since I have found one place that I know will work with my budget & is pretty cool. I'm not sure if it's quite right but I know it could work & somehow that has just helped me relax a little.

you'll find it, don't worry! the most important thing is that they are flexible with you. everything else- decor, whatever can be completely changed to your style.

It's hard to find it, but you will know in your heart when it is the one (isn't that true with everything though?).
