Bah! For some reason my drafts are not being saved! Grrr.
Lately I've been feeling a bit like the Goldilocks of venues.
Too BIG!
Too small!
Too expensive!
I'm waiting to hear back from a place that I think might be my "just right" so I can go and take a gander. Verbally it sounds like the place of my dreams! It's actually in a building that I know and love, it's recently renovated, reasonably priced, allows us to bring in our own booze, is centrally located and the views! One side looks down into one of my favorite Toronto places and the other, well the other looks out onto the city. I'm basically in love with it before even seeing it. Which I know is bad, because if I hate it I will be so sad. It always sucks when you find out your crush is a big fat jerk! You know?
Nothing can move forward until I have a venue!
And since I'm talking about venues...Ever since I started reading wedding blogs I've started to have the sneaking suspicion that I am the only person in the world that doesn't know someone who owns a farm, ranch, mansion, retreat, magical forest where I can have my wedding.

Say Cheese!
I LOVE cheese. I have loved cheese as long as I can remember, my dad even taught me the alphabet by cutting out letters from cheddar and if I knew what letter it was I could eat it! I swear that this is the reason I could read by the time I was 3.
Without a doubt our wedding will have cheese involved during the meal at some point..probably more than once! Then I saw this.
It's a cheese cake! Honestly when I first saw it I thought "Wow they've made the cake look like cheese!" and then I saw that it was actually made of real different cheese wheels! This "cake" is from a company called A Cheesy Alternative based in Niagara region.
Everyone knows about Niagara Falls, which are pretty spectacular to behold. Well not that far from the falls is Ontario's wine region and some of the most beautiful wedding spots around. Niagara on the Lake is one of my favorite towns to visit and if you ever get a chance to visit it I highly recommend it, it is a bit touristy but in a quaint way and not in the same way that Niagara Falls is. If you were looking for a sweet place to elope that has it all or even a destination wedding Niagara has it all.

The easiest decision!
Even before I was engaged I knew who would be in my bridal party. I didn't even have to ask them because I knew they always knew they were going to be my girls. I guess that's what happens when you have known your best friends for more than half your life and have only one sister.It will most likely be the easiest decision I make!
My second bridal party decision was also rather easy. My ladies are all different heights and shapes, one of them lives in Ireland, and two of them are students. I wanted to find a store that had a lot of different bridesmaids dresses, had online shopping and were reasonably priced.
Why hello David's Bridal! That's where I found these lovelies!
I love that the first and last one have similar neck lines but different silhouettes! I've been in love with the last one since I first laid eyes on it!

Photography wish list.
I forget how I stumbled upon JM photography but I instantly added them to my favorites and even though since I stumbled into their land of loveliness they have switched blogs and sites maybe 3 times I keep following them around the internet like an in awe groupie.
These are the types of photographs I would gladly get another job for. They seem to be a very cool young married couple who just happen to have major talent pouring out of their cells. Oh and they seem to like good music too. Sweet.

All of their work checks serious boxes on my photography hunt..except of course the price box. They don't have it posted anywhere that I can see now but I read that they start at 4000 dollars. Which is quite reasonable for something I consider to be art. I have friends that ask around that for their pieces but alas unless I decide we should elope and have lunch at a greasy spoon with two witnesses this is what I would spend the rest of my budget on.
That and a kick ass week in France.

A long weekend!
This was our 9th Valentines Day together, even though I have never made a big deal about this particular holiday this year I was excited. Why? Because this year we got a fridge! I know a major appliance isn't really the most romantic of gifts but if you had seen the yellow clunker that was in our kitchen before compared to our all stainless steel bottom freezer that now stands in it's place you too would be a happy cat!
BUT it didn't even stop there! After getting out of the shower on Valentines day I noticed a small Sephora bag! In it was a new perfume! AND he bought me two bottles of red wine!
We spent the day making beer in our basement from a recipe I had picked that included New Zealand Kamahi honey, orange blossom water and orange peel! It's going to be a great summer beer!
My whole weekend was perfect.
BUT it didn't even stop there! After getting out of the shower on Valentines day I noticed a small Sephora bag! In it was a new perfume! AND he bought me two bottles of red wine!

One chance is better than none.
I have never been one that would be described as "lucky". Sure I won a trophy for a drawing in when I was 6 years old and the odd scratch and win has forked over 12 dollars but I have never entered a contest and won or wanted something and suddenly it lands in my lap. Luck might be a lady but she ain't my friend it seems!
Oddly enough I have a friend who literally seems to make wishes and within a week or a month they literally become true. She's one of my bridesmaids so maybe because she's going to be part of my day some her luck will bite me in the tuckus.
Right now I am entering a contest open to people who live in my province. It is the fairytale wedding contest and I have every single appendage crossed that the name they pick out is mine...er ours.
It is wedding worth 25grand AND a honeymoon worth 5grand.
Imagine?
Imagine being handed almost everything you needed? The only things not included as far as I can tell are hair and makeup, photography, music and invites. Everything else? DONE. You even get a wedding planner!
I know it's a long shot and that many, many other people will be entering. I suppose having a chance though is better than not right?
Its funny though because even with a budget like that I'd still want to keep things relatively similar to my 6000 dollar budget. I guess it would just be on a bigger scale.

Five Questions!
Katie from The Indecisive Bride sent me 5 questions(I'm keeping with the number 5 theme this week!) I don't know why but I love answering questions and surveys...maybe it's ingrained in my brain from the years I spent taking magazine quizzes to find out if I was a good kisser or what kind of hair suits me! Ack imagine basing your hair style on a quiz!?
1. How much time do you spend per day on wedding blogs?
I probably spend more time than I think but my best guess is 45 minutes to an hour maybe more! There is just so much out there that I don't want to miss some awesome tip or idea by being lax on my blog reading!
2. Where is your favorite place to shop for shoes?
Real shoe shopping usually leads me to The Bay. I tend to only buy shoes when I have to! Fantasy shoe shopping though takes place in Holt Renfrew, Zappo's and various other online stores that have shoes that cost a whole pay cheque!
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, what would it be?
In the country in an old farm house. Preferably somewhere warm, maybe the south of France or Italy.
4. How many kids do you want to have (if any) and how soon?
I want two. The Mister seems to want one. I've had more than one fortune teller tell me 3 and I've always had a feeling I'd have twins as they seem to run in my family.
5. Name one thing you do that your fiance can't stand!
Hmm..probably that I don't take the dishes out of the dishwasher or do things when I say I'm going to. But I am going to do them, just not that very moment after I say I am!!
